these machines are able to operate in any conditions. Here follow the typical situations where our excavator can be employed successfully.

Hydro-geological upheaval. Maintenance interventions must be carried out, above all in the mountain areas adjoining catchment basins, when, after heavy rains, phenomena of erosion occur along the sides (landslides of soil or rocks), transporting huge and disastrous quantities of debris along the beds of streams.On valley floors, on the contrary, also due to the arrival of great quantities of materials obstructing river beds, there is a prevalence of phenomena of river erosion and overflow.

Building firms can employ our Batemag excavator to bring the rivers back to their beds by means of works of bank trenches, embankments, rock trenches, canalizations. In the areas subject to landslides and in mountain streams, strengthening works (walls, walls backed with tie beans, drains, rock-hindering nets, etc.) and water works such as dykes, anchor thresholds and embankments must be carried out. The use of works to protect and to arrange the territory is therefore fundamental for the municipalities of mountain areas and for all places where a hydro-geological upheaval has occurred, foreseeing the employment of a custom-assembled machinery, able to intervene without causing any further deterioration in the environment (e.g. temporary access tracks for traditional excavators), to protect built-up areas and already existing major works, for which no other solution can be foreseen.

Clearing out and rearrangement of irrigation canals in plains. Also in such situations the use of a traditional excavator may set some limitations which must be taken into consideration, first of all the impossibility to access the interior of the canal without damaging the cultivations which are grown along the canal itself, secondly, a traditional machine may easily encounter operational difficulties in case of the existence of very close trees along the canal which needs reclaiming. A mobile excavator with articulated supports such as our Batemag can effortlessly overcome such limitations and allow the restoration of the original bed with self-evident advantages for the normal flow of the water.

Maintenance of roads and mountain tracks. It is easy to guess that when there is a minimum working surface the possibility to place the machinery outside the roadbed allows local circulation to go on unhindered, therefore avoiding time-wasting diversions along alternative ways, and ensuring the thorough operational safety of the machinery.

Maintenance of ski-runs. The presence of a strong inclination of the slopes makes it difficult to ensure the functioning of traditional machinery together with sufficient safety. The contrary happens with our Batemag excavator with articulated supports which, thanks to the hydraulically placeable-stabilizers, allows the carrying out of operations in the highest stability and guarantees the safety of the operator. It is therefore self-evident that the laying of snow-making plants, methane pipelines, long-distance power lines is made easier by the employment of this excavator, with the advantage of having no need to build alternative ways which would thereafter require rearrangement interventions.

Maintenance of woods In wooded areas this kind of machinery proves irreplaceable for reforestation works aiming at the protection of the soil, at the defence of the environment and at the production of timber. By the installation of its wood processor an optimal synergy takes place and allows the carrying out of a controlled deforestation, as well as the growing up of new trees and the reutilization of felled trunks, which are stripped of their foliage and cut in various sizes according to the different needs.
